Beginner to useful crew
If you are new to sailing, Start Yachting and Competent Crew build comfort on board before you take command decisions. Competent Crew is the fuller route for people who want to become active crew members and continue toward skipper training.
You learn by doing: steering, sail handling, knots, safety routines and life aboard a cruising yacht.
Crew to skipper
Day Skipper is the usual goal for sailors who want to skipper short passages in familiar waters. The practical course works best when you already have navigation knowledge, so many students complete theory first.
From Alicante, skipper training includes marina handling, pilotage, coastal passages and real decision-making rather than a classroom-only certificate chase.
Charter, ICC and advanced pathways
If your goal is charter paperwork, ask the charter operator what evidence they require. ICC Sail, Day Skipper and logged experience can all be relevant depending on your nationality, residency, vessel and destination.
For advanced routes, plan theory, VHF/SRC, first aid, sea miles and Yachtmaster preparation early so each course supports the next one.

Yes. English is the main teaching language, with support in Spanish, French and German where helpful.
