RYA Specialist Course
Radar is a very useful and often underused tool, but only if the operator know how to use it effectively. The course covers: how radar works, how to set up the unit correctly, target definition, radar reflectors, types of radar display, position fixing by radar, plotting and the use of radar in navigation and collision avoidance.
This one day course is designed to provide a working know ledge of first aid for people using small craft and to support the skipper. The course is MCA and HSE approved and is supported by an in depth First Aid manual, and meets the required standard for those wishing to sit their Yachtmaster exam. The syllabus covers: assessing the situation and environment, respiratory and circulation systems, basic life support, getting help, bleeding, burns, patient movement, heat and cold exposure and numerous other topics.
