As the longest established sailing school in the Spanish Mediterranean Coast, we are delighted to offer a few speciality courses of our own, as well as anything you might have thought of yourself. We can’t promise that we will have you sailing like the round the world top skipper after a competent crew course but we will try to tailor a course, mini cruise or charter to your specific requirements.
We can arrange for your ICC (International Certificate of Competence) test on either your own boat or ours, help you with new boat tuition, run a 2 day harbour manoeuvres course or a 2 day Gennaker & Spinnaker course for you. If you are doing your Yachtmaster examination we can arrange this for you, help you prepare and then you can use our boat with the RYA Examiner, all for one fixed cost. If you have a boat of your own and you want it delivered elsewhere, or you would like a hand delivering it then we can help with this as well. As with everything, please feel free to contact us to discuss anything. Chances are we’ve done it already.
List of Courses
The CODE EUROPEEN des VOIES de NAVIGATION INTERIEURE is the code covering navigation on the interconnected European inland waterways.
Signs, rules and procedures for navigating many of the European inland waterways are all included within the CEVNI and in the same way as pleasure craft on coastal waters are expected to abide by the COLREGS, pleasure craft on the many inland waterways of Europe, which in places are heavily utilised by commercial traffic, are expected to know the CEVNI as this is the basis of the various countries’ own regulations.
The RYA do not offer a dedicated CEVNI course as the code is not recognised in the UK and as such there is no separate CEVNI certificate. However, candidates can apply to complete a short multiple choice exam and, if successful, request the RYA to endorse the “Inland Waters” section of their ICC (International Certificate of Competence).
Candidates wishing to have their ICC endorsed to include Inland Waters will need to read and be fully conversant with all the CEVNI regulations contained within an RYA book “Handy Guide to CEVNI” which will be supplied by Costa Blanca Sailing. The exam will take place on board our yacht in Alicante, or at any other place by prior arrangement.
Cost: 95 euros per person
Please note that the ICC licence (and any endorsement(s)) is issued direct by the RYA, having been approved by Costa Blanca Sailing. Candidates must be in possession of a valid ICC issued by the RYA or successfully complete an ICC assessment at the same time as completing the CEVNI exam.
